Frequently asked questions
Delivery, returns, fitting, thicknesses and trade terms. If your question is not here, call 01905 613500.
How much is delivery and how long does it take?
Mainland UK orders dispatch within one working day and arrive in two to three. Delivery is free on orders over £250 ex VAT. Scottish Highlands, the Islands, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands take three to five working days and carry a surcharge quoted at checkout. We ship worldwide — send your country and quantities for a freight price.
Do you deliver on a pallet?
Larger orders travel on a pallet, so the delivery point needs kerbside access for a tail-lift vehicle. The driver is not able to carry mats into a yard or building — please have someone available to move them.
What is your returns policy?
Unused stock items can be returned within 30 days of delivery for a refund. Return carriage is payable by the customer unless the goods are faulty or we sent the wrong item. Cut-to-size and bespoke orders are manufactured to your measurements and cannot be returned unless faulty. Nothing here affects your statutory rights.
What if something arrives damaged?
Note it on the delivery paperwork if you can, photograph the damage and email us within 48 hours. We will arrange a replacement or refund.
Do I need adhesive?
In most cases, no. Stable and gym mats are heavy enough to lay loose on a level, compacted base, and interlocking tiles hold themselves together. Adhesive is only recommended on ramps, in high-traffic entrances, and where a fully sealed floor is required.
Can I cut the mats to fit?
Yes. Score deeply with a sharp knife against a straight edge, then flex the mat open along the cut. Take your time on the first one. Most ranges can also be supplied cut to your measurements — send the finished dimensions and we will confirm price and lead time.
What thickness do I need?
For a standard 12ft × 12ft stable on level concrete, 17mm is the working default. Move up to 24mm where horses are stabled for long periods, where the base is uneven, or to cut bedding costs further. Stable wall matting is typically 12mm. Gym free-weight areas usually want 15–20mm; platform and drop zones want more.
How do I clean rubber matting?
Sweep or scrape off loose debris, then hose or pressure wash. Mild detergent or a standard disinfectant is fine. Avoid solvent-based cleaners — they degrade rubber over time. Lift mats occasionally to let the base underneath dry out.
Will the mats smell?
New rubber has a noticeable smell for the first week or two, strongest in a warm enclosed space. Ventilate the area and it fades. A wash with mild detergent speeds it up.
Do you offer bulk and pallet pricing?
Yes. Volume discounts are applied automatically in the basket, and full-pallet or container quantities are priced individually — we manufacture, so large runs come straight from production with no distributor margin. Send a schedule of sizes and we will come back with a firm delivered price.
How do I open a trade account?
Trade accounts are open to retailers, contractors, livery yards, equestrian centres, gyms and facilities managers. Apply with your company details and we will set up account pricing, consolidated invoicing and a named contact.
Can I order a custom size?
Most ranges can be cut to your measurements, including coir matting and rubber rolls. Send the finished dimensions and the thickness you need.
Are prices shown with or without VAT?
Prices display excluding VAT with the inclusive figure alongside, because most of our customers are trade buyers. VAT is calculated at checkout.
What payment methods do you accept?
All major cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Klarna. Trade accounts can be invoiced on agreed terms.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes — we ship worldwide. Send your country, quantities and delivery address and we will price the freight.
